Dear Sisters and Brothers,
My name is Tim Cheung; Vice President of the Pacific Region for Unifor Local 2002.
Many do not know what comprises of my role as members usually deal with their District Chairs or Vice Chair. The role of the Vice President is to administer regional budgets, approve officer time off, elections, education and political action campaigns, and member engagement.
Between Conventions or Special meetings, the management, direction and control of the affairs of the Local Union, including control over the Local Unions’ funds, properties, other assets and raising of revenue, shall be vested in the Executive Board.
The Executive Board consists of:

The Executive Board meets every 3 months. Prior to the Executive Board, I will be asking the District Chairs to submit a report on the activities that are occurring within your workplace. This report is crucial to informing the Executive Board of the Pacific Region activities in order to budget, plan, administer and coordinate our actions in the interests of the Local Union. It is submitted to the Executive Board along with the other activities and events that are occurring within the Pacific Region and also the role in which I am representing our Unifor Local 2002 membership within the Labour Movement.
My role is to assist the President in administering the affairs of the Local Union and shall provide counsel to district officers and members within the Pacific Region to ensure adherence to the policies, procedures and programs of the Local Union and the National Union; Unifor.
The Vice President's role is NOT a full-time position of the Local Union. It is a part-time position in which when I am not representing our Local Union, I am working within my workplace; Aeroplan.
I will be corresponding with the Pacific Region members regarding the issues that affect you. Prior to each Executive Board Meeting, I will be posting to the Pacific Membership the report that I submit to the Executive Board to ensure that YOU know exactly what the Executive Board knows for transparency.

*** please note that Tim is on GIDIP (short-term disability) as of August 3 2018 as he will be undergoing surgery.
He has appointed District Chair Anca Pricop to cover the Pacific Region Vice President Position while he recovers as per the Unifor Local 2002 Bylaws. She should be offered all rights and privileges under the VP position while Tim is away.
