For general information on the retirement process please contact 

HR CONNEX at 1 855 855 0785. Select your language of choice, enter your employee ID, enter your pin and follow the prompts.  

Eligibility to Retire:
  • Please consult your last pension statement to determine your eligible retirement or early retirement date. You may also use the Pension Calculator in the Pension channel under My HR, My Pension, Information & Tools and then Defined Benefit. If you have questions please call 1-855 855 0785., select your language of choice,Retirement Planner: An informational and interactive tool designed specifically for Canadian active employees can be found in the Pension channel under My HR, My Pension, Information & Tools, Retirement planner.

  • Please be aware that you must retire as of the 1st day of the month.
  • If you reach the age of 65 (60 for Pilots) in the middle of a month, you will continue to work until the end of the month, and retire as of the 1st day of the following month.
  • Print the Retirement Request Form ACF86 and complete it at least  three months before  your retirement date. If you retire at age 65 (age 60 for pilots), you do not have to complete the Retirement Request Form; your retirement will be handled automatically.
  • Provide this form to your manager, and request that it be forwarded on to Employee Services (scan and email toeservices@aircanada.ca or fax to 1-866-207-8636)
  • By providing this information three months before  your retirement date, you are assured of receiving your pension options and your first pension check on the first of the month following your retirement date. The pension payment will be an estimate until all the paper work and final time is completed . If this form is sent to employee services less than three months before your retirement date your pension checks will be delayed.
  • If you are permanently disabled, physically or mentally, you may be eligible for a Disability or Grounded Retirement under the defined benefit pension plan. Refer to the Request for a Disability  form ACF86A  for further details.
       FINAL PAYCHEQUE


  • Just prior to your last day at work, your manager must complete the Notice of Separation ACF89, including information on any vacation days taken this year, and send it to Employee Services.
  • Employee Services will calculate any outstanding vacation owed to you, or any vacation time you have taken that you have not yet earned, and incorporate that into your final paycheck.
  • Your manager will collect all company assets (such as manuals, cell phones, keys) from you on your last day of work using the Clearance Checklist ACF87 .
  • Air Canada Payrolls will complete the process and mail your final check and a Record of Employment to you within 30 days of your last day of work. Please note that final paychecks are NOT delivered by direct deposit, however your pension checks will be deposited into the bank account on file.
